Mrs Bell is a nurse who works unusual hours – she’s working on Christmas Day this year. She loves how Sure Petcare products make her feel more connected to her pets. Here’s how they’ve made a difference.
Hi, I’m Mrs Bell, and over the last few months I’ve introduced Sure Petcare products to our household to help my husband and I take better care of our pets.
We now have a SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect and a SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap Connect for our cat Muffin. Our dog Jack used to steal Muffin’s food which was making him put on weight. The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect opens for Muffin’s microchip so now only she can eat her food. This is particularly important because she has prescription food which manages a medical condition. The vet says she’s much healthier now, and so is Jack because he’s lost weight!
The feeder allows me to weigh out Muffin’s food accurately and I can see in the Sure Petcare app when and how much she eats. I get a notification every time she eats from the bowl, which is very reassuring when I’m out of the house. Because I work odd hours, my husband and I take it in turns to feed Muffin. This is recorded in the app, which is handy to ensure we don’t feed her twice and we can both see that she’s been fed when she should have been.
The Microchip Cat Flap Connect gives me reassurance too because I can see if she’s in or out of the house and I get a notification each time she uses it. It stops other cats getting in and I can lock it and unlock it remotely wherever I am. I can even unlock it in the early hours when I’m still in bed and I can hear her meowing to be let out! It uses the same Sure Petcare app as the feeder, giving me visibility of her comings and goings and feeding behaviour all in one place.
Meanwhile, Animo has made an enormous difference to Jack’s wellbeing. We discovered fleas were bothering him because his Animo was alerting us to his excessive scratching, so we were able to treat him quickly. We also learned that he was barking at the same time every day when the postman visited the house, so now we close the door to the hallway. This has made a big difference because we can see that his barking has reduced.
Animo lets us set activity or calorie burn goals for him and enables us to see how long he has been active for each day. We used to think we’d take him for a long enough walk but sometimes those walks involved stopping to chat to a neighbour or sitting on a bench to look at the view. An hour-long walk might only have actually been 40 minutes of walking time. Now we have no excuse to cut his walks short. We believe the extra exercise has contributed to his weight loss too.
My husband and I both have access to the Sure Petcare – Animo app so that either of us can sync the device when we are with Jack. This means that when I’m on a weekend shift and my husband is at home, I can check up on Jack and see how he’s doing.
