Tati the cat smashes target weight thanks to Microchip Pet Feeder

Bobby has a SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder for Toddy the cat, which has helped Tati the cat to lose weight. We got in touch with Bobby to find out more.

Can you tell us why you have a Microchip Pet Feeder?

I was issued the Microchip Pet Feeder via the diet clinic at Leahurst Small Animal Hospital. Tati was enrolled there in December 2018 weighing 6.41 kg.

Tati has always been a greedy cat and used to eat her fill of both food bowls before allowing Toddy to eat. They both eat a mixture of wet and dry food.  She also scavenged and hunted outside. Feeding them in separate rooms didn't work as they would wail either side of the door and Toddy didn't really eat.

Toddy was issued with the Microchip Pet Feeder and we used the training mode for a few days until suddenly he just got it, so we went on to fully closed from then on. I could then feed Tati the exact amounts of food and Toddy could graze – his favoured mode of eating.

How has the Microchip Pet Feeder made a difference?

Tati reached her target of 5.02 kg in April 2019. She then continued to lose weight and at her lowest she weighed 4.612 kg in July 2019.

An unexpected positive was the reduction in Toddy regurgitating as he no longer has to gobble and can graze at his leisure. I find I can put down less food for him as I don't have to compensate for Tati's theft and bullying.

Toddy is definitely more relaxed around his food and Tati is healthier through weight loss although would clearly still like to eat lots and lots!

Would you recommend the Microchip Pet Feeder?

I have already recommended the feeder to other people and will continue to do so. I think it’s reliable and sturdy.
