Find out how Purrkins the cat stays safe at night

Meet Purrkins, his owner, Nancy wanted to give him access to discover outside, but she was wary about him being out all day.

Like many cat owners, Nancy wanted to give her cat Purrkins the opportunity to roam freely outside. However, she didn’t like the idea of him being out at night and certainly didn’t want anything else coming into the house via the cat door. After a little bit of research online, Nancy purchased a SureFlap Microchip Pet Door for her cat Purrkins. She wanted Purrkins to feel safe in his own home, but she was also drawn to the pet door’s curfew mode.

What is the pet door's curfew mode?

The curfew mode is a programmable lock that can be set to lock and unlock at certain times of the day or night. When the set time arrives on the curfew mode for the door to lock, pets can come into the house if they are still outside, but they can’t get out again until the door unlocks. This feature has enabled Nancy to keep Purrkins in every night, giving her peace of mind that he is safe.

Nancy, tell us how the SureFlap Microchip Pet Door has made a difference?

I just have to tell you that last night was the first time in many years that when we left for a party, we were comfortable with Purrkins being outside as we left.  We knew we would not be back until after his curfew, but it didn't matter.

When we came home, there was Purrkins safe in our home! What a relief that he can come in whenever he wants and we don't have to coax him in before we leave our house.
