How to use the Sure Petcare app to identify changes in your cat’s feeding

The SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect is revolutionising the way owners feed their cats. The data within the Sure Petcare app can help you identify changes in your cat’s feeding habits.

The Microchip Pet Feeder Connect links to the Sure Petcare app via a Hub. Within the app, you can see when your cat eats, and over time, you can start to learn your cat’s normal patterns of activity, to help you notice changes. If you also have a connected cat flap, you can compare the data of both products to get an even deeper insight. The data for both products can be viewed within the Sure Petcare app all in one place.

Here are a couple of examples from existing Sure Petcare customers of how the data has helped them.

Colin the cat’s story

Colin’s owners have a SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap Connect and a SureFeed Microchip Pet Feeder Connect. After using both products for a while, Colin’s owners discovered that his normal feeding behaviour follows a pattern. He will usually eat from his feeder as soon as he has entered through the cat flap.

If there is a gap of longer than five minutes between Colin entering the cat flap and visiting his feeder, then 90% of the time that will mean that he has brought a mouse into the house! So, the data tells his owners when they might need to search for any rogue mice!

Paddocks the cat’s story

Whilst his owners were away, Paddocks changed his feeding pattern, perhaps because he felt a little unsettled by the presence of a pet sitter entering his home, but also due to the pet sitter feeding him at different times to what he was used to, throwing his normal feeding routine off course.

The images below demonstrate how his feeding changed whilst his owners were away. Paddocks’ owners have found this information useful, because the next time they go away, they plan to tell their pet sitter to feed him at specific times, which they hope will settle him a bit more.

Stay connected, wherever you are
