What are your thoughts on the Microchip Pet Feeder Connect?

Very good. Overall, the feeders have been excellent; they’re very easy to use. It only took Boris a day to get to grips with it and size-wise it’s perfect for both of them. Boris is quite a big cat and Daisy is a tiny terrier. I like the feedback on how much they’re eating and really like that I can see when they’re eating, too. I will continue to monitor their feeding, especially Daisy because of her age and frailty. It’ll be good to be able to identify changes.

How often do you interact with the app?

Twice, maybe three times a day.

Do you feel more aware of your pet’s eating behaviour?

I think I’m more aware now and find it really interesting. I feel like I’ve learnt more about Boris. I used to have to feed him outside and thought he would eat his food in one sitting, but since having the feeder we’ve found out he’s much more of a grazer. Looking at the graphs in the app I can see that he has definitive feeding times, but he goes back multiple times, so it’s been great to see the trends and patterns.

Have you changed your behaviour regarding your pet’s food because of the feeder?

I feel like I’m being a lot more accurate now because of the portioning. Before when I was hurrying around with the kids, the animals were probably fed more than they should have been, but now I know that they’re getting the same amount every day. The kids have even been helping and I can see they’re putting in the same amount as well.

Has the feeder made you feel more connected to your pets?

Yes, I do feel more connected and it’s nice when I’m at work to get the notifications.

Has the feeder solved any problems around feeding in your household?

Yes definitely! Mainly because we don’t have to feed Boris outside anymore and can feed both the dog and the cat at the same time now.

What do you think is the main selling point of this product?

Being able to get an individual pet to eat an individual diet and to be able to give them the amount you want easily. The portioning feature really helps! It’s a big plus to be able to know that everyone in the family feeds them the same amount now.

Would you recommend the product to a friend?

Yes, I would, and I would recommend it as a professional because I am a vet. I can see this being a useful tool for clients in weight management and prescription diet feeding in a multi-pet household.
